Missouri Governor Eric Greitens remains unmoved regarding the state of Medicaid Expansion in Missouri, despite the failure of the US Congress to vote on a plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Gov. Greitens remained firm in his belief that the Affordable Care Act should be repealed and replaced. Even though Congress’s failure to put forward a replacement bill has reignited talk of Medicaid Expansion in other states, Gov. Greitens said that Medicaid will not be expanded in Missouri. Medicaid expansion would result in health care coverage for 300,000 uninsured Missourians. Additionally, Medicaid Expansion has led to cost savings in many states, because it creates jobs and economic growth, as well as cuts down on uncompensated care costs for healthcare providers.
