State lawmakers are misinformed on Medicaid proposal

Sidney Watson, a professor of health law studies at Saint Louis University and a board member of Missouri Health Care for All, explains how SB 28 is the wrong way to remake Missouri’s Medicaid program.

As she explains in this article, “Under the global waiver cap, if the cap is hit, then the state has to either pick up the additional cost, or cut people off or cut services.”

In a state where the majority of people using Medicaid are children, seniors, and people with disabilities, this would almost certainly mean cutting off care for our most vulnerable Missourians.
