As federal legislators debate how best to undo the Affordable Care Act, Republicans are finding themselves more and more at odds with each other. Political groups backed by the billionaire Koch brothers have come out strongly against the bill, threatening to punish lawmakers by docking their conservative ratings on the scorecards they deliver to voters. Many conservative activists are demanding that Congress take a harder line and pass a repeal measure that would leave no trace of the ACA.
The Republican Party, despite their control of both houses of Congress and the White House continue picking a fight with each other. So much so that President Trump has asked leaders of several conservative groups to “tone it down.” President Trump said he was prepared to pressure senators opposing the American Health Care Act by holding rallies similar to the ones he held during his campaign.
